Obituary

Ron was born in Fontana, California to mother Shirley and father Richard. He grew up in Fontana with three sisters and one brother.

He joined the Air Force in 1977 and was trained as an aircraft crash type fire truck mechanic and heavy equipment mechanic.

He attended the NCO Leadership School, the NCO Academy, and Venice Maintenance Superintendent Course and earned an associate’s degree in management. He met his wife Betty of 28 years in Las Vegas where they both lived and worked.  He raised three children; sons Chris, Jon, and daughter Amanda.  He moved to the Silverton area in 1997 where he and Betty called home.

He is survived by his wife Betty, mother Shirley, brother Rick, sisters Sally, Sandy, and Shari, sons Chris of Las Vegas, Jon of Silverton, and daughter Amanda of Salem, along with 11 grandchildren which he was very proud of. He suffered a stroke in 2005 which left him unable to work.  He was a loving, strong, and understanding man with a big heart.  He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, especially his wife.
