In loving memory of Nicolas Ray Hurst, 35, of Columbus, Ohio passed away Monday, August 28, 2023. He was born March 25,1988 in Columbus, Ohio and attended Westerville South High School.
Survived by his parents Kevin and Michelle Hurst; his brothers, Andrew and Tyler Hurst; Grandparents Robert and Linda Funk, Rosemary Hurst and Jim Bates; Aunt, Tina Evans, Uncles Rob Funk, Tony (Lauren) Funk, , Lawrence Hurst, Jason Bates ( Michelle), Judson Bates ( Rachel), Jameson Bates, many cousins and loved ones
Preceded in death by his Great Grandparents, Ruth Strausbaugh, Robert and Shirley Funk, Lucille and Kenneth Bates, Grandfather Raymond Hurst, and his Aunt, Mneatha Henneke Kramer.
Nicolas was a loving soul and a compassionate heart. He loved animals, especially close to his dogs Honey and Hampton. He loved sports, and was a devoted Ohio State Buckey fan, as well as a Pittsburg Steelers and Boston Celtics fan. He also loved music, a couple of his favorite bands were Modest Mouse and Dave Mathews Band. Nicolas was extremely smart when it came to computers and would have soared in the technology world.
In Loving Memory of Nicolas, the family is planning a Celebration of Life, date still to be determined but will be shared in the weeks to come.

It’s hard to argue that anything can be more painful than the death of a child, no matter the age. I am saddened to hear of the recent passing of Nick. I’m here for you and I love you.
