Life was beautiful growing up in Newton. Fishing, camping, picnics, church activities, climbing apple trees to read her favorite books and lots of family gatherings kept Mary’s heart full. Mary’s love of God and His teachings shown through in her warm smile and her loving personality. As an anointed Deaconess, Mary had a faithful servants heart and was dearly loved by all who were blessed to know her.
Some of Mary’s most treasured memories were those of helping more than 200 babies make their way into the world including all of her own children’s first born sons. As a midwife’s assistant and labor coach she was in her element helping mothers give birth and teaching them how to care for their new arrivals. Her patience and calm, caring demeanor will be missed.
Among Mary’s favorite pastimes were sewing, baking wedding cakes, coloring beautiful pictures, treasure hunting and trips to the beach. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was where Mary would always choose to be.
