Obituary

Caroline Jo Hein, age 77, passed surround by her daughters on April 13, 2023. Caroline was born to mother Dolores Huff Young and father, Joseph DuWayne Young of Half Way, Oregon. Caroline was known as “Jo” to her close, friends and family.  

After high school Caroline left Halfway to attend Oregon State University, where she attained her teaching degree. While raising three children, Caroline also went back to school to get her special education certification. Caroline dedicated herself to teaching and touched the lives of hundreds of children. 

Caroline enjoyed crafting many things and gifting her creations to family and friends. Throughout her life Caroline made ceramics, Crosstitch, painting, knitting, sewing, crocheting, and most recently quilting. Caroline was an unwaveringly loyal friend. If anyone needed help she did so without complaint. She always helped her family with anything. No questions asked.  

Caroline is survived by her daughters Stacia Ann Hein, Amy Marie Hein and Annmarie Jo Hemmelman. 
Grandchildren, Elisha John Hutley, Gabriel Noah Hutley, Lillian Annette Hein, Sophia Grace Hemmelman and Juniper Mae Hemmelman. 

Older brothers, Phil Young, and Jim Young and younger brother Thomas Travis Young. As well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. 

There will be a celebration of life held on May 21 at 10:30 AM at Johnson’s funeral home in Salem Oregon
