William Ross Fullmer

William Ross Fullmer, age 77, of Menan, passed away at his step-daughter’s home in Turner, Oregon, Saturday June 10, 2017.

Ross was born, January 10, 1940 at his grandparent’s home in Annis, Idaho, the second son of Norris Fullmer and Dona Scott Fullmer. He attended 1-8 grades in Menan and graduated from Rigby High School in 1958. On May 10, 1963, Ross married Jaylene Marie Elder in the LDS Idaho Falls temple. They were later divorced. He married Renee Poole Willits, June 4, 2001 in Reno, Nevada. This marriage was solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS temple, March 20, 2004.

Ross served an LDS mission to the East Central States Mission in 1960. He served in the Idaho National Guard.

Ross began his long meat cutting career under the tutelage of his Uncle Glen Scott in 1958. He was a meat cutter for 58 years. He worked at Robert’s Market, which his Uncle owned, Idaho Food King, Buttrey’s, Waremart which became WINCO and Broulims. Every fall from 1958-2016 he cut wild game at Glen Wood Customs Meats for his Uncle and cousins.

One of Ross’s true passions was fishing. It didn’t matter if it was from the bank of Dry Creek or Wet Creek, on a riffle on the South Fork, or from his boat. When he took family and friends in his boat he would always say,” I can’t promise that you will catch a fish but I can promise you a beautiful ride.”

He is survived by his loving wife, Renee, 3 sons and 1 daughter. William Ray Fullmer (Karli) Dallas, Oregon. Shane Norris Fullmer (Lena Marie) Harrison Township, Michigan, Jana Marie Fullmer, Beaverton, Oregon, Gary Curtis Fullmer (Anna) Moscow, Idaho. 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

3 step-children Michael Willits (Luci) Boise, Idaho, Kristina Willits Clever (Jeremiah) Boise, Idaho, Jayne Ann Willits Thayn (Erin) Turner, Oregon. 9 step-grandchildren

4 brothers and 2 sisters, Lyle Fullmer (Angie) Cologne, Germany, Beverly Bishop (Ray) Orem, Utah, Dean Fullmer (Carol) Menan, Idaho, Elaine Taylor (Charles), Rigby, Idaho, Scott Fullmer (Christina) Idaho Falls, Idaho, Boyd Fullmer (Teri) Boise, Idaho.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am, July 1, 2017 at Annis Little Butte Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Fullmer campground at 1:00 pm that same day.
