Rose Marie Frank

May 30, 1958 — August 13, 2021

Rose Marie past peacefully in her sleep Friday, August 13, 2021, with her loving husband Ron Flanagin at her side.

Rose Marie Frank was born in Portland, Oregon on May 30, 1958, to Gottfried and Anna Frank.  She grew up in the Tualatin and Tigard areas of Portland.  She graduated from Tigard High in 1976.

Rose Marie was always a hard worker.  Her junior year of high school she began working for Farmer’s Insurance.  She had several office jobs after that until she was hired by the Northwest Natural Gas Company.  Rose started in their Portland office and then transferred to the Salem office where she retired as a Senior Customer Service Representative after 27 years of employment.  It was while she was working at the Northwest Natural Gas Company Rose met her husband, Ron.

Rose Marie developed a love for cooking and gardening from her mother.  In the Springtime, she blessed those around her with beautiful, potted, flower arrangements and hanging baskets.  She also shared her knowledge of how to care for flowers and plants with her friends and family.  She enjoyed making Spritz cookies during the holidays and was known for her pea salad that she would bring to get togethers with her friends.  Rose Marie also loved to play games with her many friends including Sheila Freeman, Kathy Carlson, Mary Ann Jones, and the Wilson Clan.  Although Cribbage was her favorite game, she never shied away from playing Phase 10 or 10,000 (a dice game).

In her younger years Rose Marie enjoyed going dancing with Ron and later in life enjoyed many trips including to Central Oregon where she learned to cross country ski, and to the Oregon Coast.  One memorable trip was when Ron and Rose Marie went to Yellowstone National Park, where they spent time together enjoying the scenic sites.  Rose became a true tourist, and at one point tried to make friends with a young moose.

Although Rose Marie was involved with different churches throughout her life, she found a church home at Salem Heights.  It was during this time Rose Marie grew in her faith and realized her need for a stronger relationship to God.

Rose Marie is survived by her husband Ron Flanagin, older brother Victor Frank (Sylvia) of Tualatin, older sister Marta Luten (Robert) of Scottsdale, AZ, older sister Frieda Farr (David) of Rockaway Beach, OR and her identical twin sister Emily Tolley of Tacoma, WA and many nieces and nephews.

Rose was a loving sister and aunt, generous friend, and a loyal wife.  She is much loved and will be enormously missed.
