Robert Lee Williams Sr. (Bob) was born in Mill City OR, August 8, 1931. His family moved to Salem, OR where he resided for the majority of his life. He volunteered for two tours of duty in the United States Navy, serving as a medical corpsman for the Marine Corps first division recon. He was justifiably proud of his military service. He returned to soon marry Marilyn Brown Foxley, a relationship that lasted almost 63 years. Bob and Marilyn raised seven children who they loved. He went home to his Heavenly Father, in a room overflowing with family, friends and love, Sunday afternoon February 26, 2017.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn, along with children Lynne Henry (Tom), Bob Williams Jr. (Laura), Ted Williams, USN ret. (Kingsley), Dan Williams (Pam), David Williams USN ret. (Julie), and Campbell (Sue), 23 Grandchildren, and a growing number of great grandchildren, He is preceded in death by his oldest Daughter, Lori.
It’s said that the measure of a man’s greatness isn’t found in how much he loves, but by how much he is loved. By that definition, Bob is indeed, a truly great man.
