Mark Steven Dietsche

Mark Steven Dietsche, 62, Keizer, Oregon, died at 1:00 pm, on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018 from an apparent heart attack.

Mark was born Oct. 31, 1956 in Richmond, Virginia. He grew up in Southern Ca., then migrated to Oregon within a few years of his marriage to Linda (Mahn) Dietsche. They were happily married for 30 years.

He worked as a truck driver, first for Viking Freight Systems, then for FedEx when Viking was bought out by them. He was a driver for almost 30 years. One of his biggest accomplishments was that of becoming FedEx's first ever National Grand Champion at the National Truck Driving Championships in 2003 in Columbus Ohio. He was also proud of having obtained his private pilots license and would take friends and family for rides.

Mark served his country in the US Army between 1974 - 1980. He served in Korea. Mark felt an affinity for those who served in WWII, and was proud to be able to help defend his country.

He is survived by his wife Linda L. Dietsche; his older brother Vernard F. Dietsche, Jr. of Santa Ana. Ca.; and his nephews, James and Kevin Dietsche, along with a few aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceeded in death by both father and mother, Vernard F. Dietsche, Sr. and Josephine R.(McGinley) Dietsche, along with his next oldest brother, Charles Dietsche.

Services will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Johnson Funeral home at 134 Missouri Ave. S. Salem, Oregon. His brother in law, Jerry Mahn, will be giving the eulogy and his friend Troy Walker will sing a special song for him.
