Marjorie "Marge" Ann (King) Redkey

December 1, 1930 — December 20, 2023

Passed away in Eugene, Oregon December 20, 2023 at the age of 93.    Marge was moved to Green Valley Rehabilitation Health Center after a fall in an assisted living residence in Klamath Falls.

Born to Almond James(AJ) and Ruth (Jester) King December 1, 1930 in Buell ID

The family moved from Idaho area when Marjorie was a young child and settled in the Merrill/Malin area.

Marjorie graduated from Klamath Union high school after the family moved to Klamath Falls.   Marge attended school at SOC in Ashland and then graduated from University of Oregon with a teaching degree.

Marjorie married Sam Redkey on August 16, 1952.  She lived in her home of 56 years until 2022 when declining health necessitated a move to assisted living.

Marjorie taught business education at Klamath Union until her retirement in 1995.

She was an active member of the First Presbyterian church until physical disabilities prevented her from attending church.

She loved to garden and sew.  An accomplished seamstress she made many of her own clothes.  Marjorie had a great love of animals.  Marge’s home on Homedale was very inviting to the deer she loved to watch in her yard.  The last year she was in her home, twin fawns were born in her yard.

Surviving relatives and caregivers: nieces Beverly J. Hassell, San Antonio, TX, Kay(Bob) Salley, Salem, OR. Marge is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Debby Guerrero who had a special love for Marge and took amazing care of her for a number of years.

Pre deceased by parents, husband Sam Redkey, sister and brother in law Marion and Glenn Yaple, and brother Keith King and numerous Redkey relations.

At Marge’s request no service is planned.
