Maria Guadalupe Narvaez

On Friday, January 31, 2025, María Guadalupe Narvaez of Salem, Oregon passed away peacefully at the age of 94 years. 

Our mother, Maria, was born in San Benito, TX on May 11, 1930. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most—always offering love i abundance. She was a dear friend to many and now leaves a void in our hearts. We know that she rejoices in heaven with our father, Juan Francisco Narvaez and our brother José Guadalupe Narvaez.

 For as long as she could, our mother was a hard worker, dedicated to contributing to the household until she could no longer work. She would oftentimes wake up in the crack of dawn to begin making tortillas for the daily meals needed for work and for her children at school. She was always cheerful as long as she had her radio tuned in to the Spanish music. She enjoyed seeing the flowers in her garden bursting through th ground in the springtime. She truly enjoyed gardening, planting flowers where eve there was a spot for them in her garden. Seeing all her children and grandchildren gathered for family get togethers always brought her much joy! She had such a big heart, being kind and so giving of herself she could never say no to anyone that was in need of something she could provide. She was a true angel on this earth. 

Our mother, Maria, is survived by Juan Manual Narvaez (Yolanda Narvaez), María Teresa Miranda (Tim Lestmeister), Graciela Narvaez, Gloria Clements (Tracy Clements), Florencia Zapata (Robert Zapata), Blanca Pacheco (Scott Pacheco), Christina Solis (Eustacio Solis), Yolanda Ramirez (Joel Ramirez). Grandchildren—23, Great Grandchildren—46, and 1 great great grandchild on the way. 

Viewing will take place at Johnson Funeral Home, Salem, Oregon on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 1:30-4PM. Mass will take place at St. Vincent de Paul, Salem, Oregon on Friday, February 7, 2025 beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at City View Funeral Home and Cemetery, Salem, Oregon on Friday, February 7, 2025 after the reception following the Mass
