Margarette (Margie) Jensen passed away quietly in her assisted living apartment on December 24, 2021 in Orem, Utah. She was 14 days short of her 90th birthday.
Margie was born January 6, 1932, in Malin, Oregon to her parents, William Eber and Stephanie Mokrosh Brightman. She grew up in Malin and the Klamath Falls area. In 1947 Margie and her family moved to Eugene where she was a member of the first graduating class of Willamette High School in June 1950.
In May 1950, just before graduation, Margie met Don Jensen and after dating through the summer, they were married August 1950. They built their home in Harrisburg, Oregon and spent the next 66 years raising their family and serving in their community and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Don passed away May 2017 which left a void in Margie’s life.
Don and Margie enjoyed dancing and spent several years working with teenagers and participating in numerous regional and national dance festivals sponsored by the Church. After Don retired, they spent several years traveling in their motor home visiting family and friends throughout the western United States.
Margie is survived by her brother Charles Brightman and his wife Betty Jo; four sons, Steven and his wife Larayne, Ronald and his wife Kathy, James and his wife Debbie and John; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held January 7, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the Junction City Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1530 Rose Street, Junction City, Oregon.
