We are sad to announce the passing of Lori Suzanne Neva, 67, of Salem, Oregon at Redwood Heights Assisted Living on June 27, 2022. Lori passed peacefully surrounded by several loved ones after a very short battle with brain cancer. Having been a very loving and caring person, she will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Lori’s final wish was for everyone to be kind to one another.
Lori was born January 12th, 1955 in San Jose, CA to Ted Charles Kropp and Patricia Helen Crotty and was the second child in a family of five daughters and one half-sister. Ted and Patricia later moved to Riverside, CA where they raised Lori and her sisters Dianne, Karen, Shelley, and Carol. While Lori spent her early years in CA, she moved to Oregon in 1980 where she lived until her death.
After several years working in banking at First Interstate Bank in Seaside OR, Lori accepted a position in 1990 working in escrow at Key Title Co. in Seaside, OR. Eventually, her career would take her to Silverton, OR working at Key Title. In 2000, she moved into marketing for Ticor Title in Salem, OR but eventually moved back to escrow in 2003. In March of 2013, Lori was promoted to Assistant Vice-President and Branch Manager of Ticor Title’s Salem, OR branch. She loved her role as Branch Manager, which is why she never retired. During her career at Ticor Title, Lori received several awards for her outstanding performance.
When Lori wasn’t working, she was helping her community, volunteering her time and resources to several community outreach programs and independently, organizing events and fundraisers to feed and cloth the homeless. One of her favorite times of the year was collecting pajamas for children in the community just before Christmas. If you knew Lori, you knew she was ALWAYS giving. Her kindness and natural need-to-give were unmatched.
Lori enjoyed traveling, shopping (especially at TJ Max), bowling, attending family events, and participating in the annual St. Patrick’s Day Run. She was a faithful follower and supporter of her family members’ sporting events and was regularly in the stands cheering on their efforts.
Lori is survived by her son James Lee Neva of Astoria, OR; stepmother Sharon Kropp of Eden, ID; siblings Dianne Barnes (David) of Lenoir City, TN, Shelley Meyer (Wade) of Lewiston, ID, Stacy Young of Portland, OR, and Cody Kropp (Valerie) of Kimberly, ID; nieces Elly Smith, Emily Browning, Charlie Zumwalt, Carol Powell, Rachel Niebuhr, and Chelsea Wood, along with several great nieces and nephews who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her best friend and honorary sister Theresa (Grider) Hill, and her favorite house companion, Gracie (the kitty).
Lori is preceded in death by her son Sean Anthony Seratte; father Ted Charles Kropp; mother Patricia Helen (Crotty) Young; sisters Karen Hetervig, and Carol Kropp.
