Kelly Arnold passed away unexpectedly on Monday December 16, 2024 at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. Kelly Everett Arnold was born May 8, 1938 in Albany, Oregon to Karl Arnold and Beatrice (Farmer) Arnold. He lived and worked on the family farm in Shedd and graduated from West Albany High School where he ran track. Kelly married Joy Mullen in 1958, and they welcomed a daughter Cindy Lou (Reynolds) Kopplien. Kelly and Joy later divorced and Kelly married Rosalie (Kuvaas) Davis. Rosie had three children from a previous marriage-Lori, Tracy, and Larry.
Kelly worked at The Albany Paper Mill for the majority of his adult life as a paper tester. Kelly also enjoyed flying small planes in his time off from the mill, spending time with grandchildren, training horses, and visiting the beach and Roaring River at Larwood Park. He also enjoyed playing his accordion, doing yard work, riding bikes, and music. In his later years Kelly walked hundreds of miles around Albany and enjoyed visiting with many friends new and old. Kellywas heavily involved in his churches: Hope Church of Albany and 7th Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed his time in fellowship with others,especially his Band of Brothers Group at Hope Church.
Kelly was preceeded in death by wife Rosie in 2015, daughter Cindy Lou (Reynolds) Kopplien, and sister Karlene (Arnold) Marshall.
Kelly is survived by: Lori (Cary) Powell of Harrisburg, Oregon; Tracy (Terry) Payne of Corvallis, Oregon; and Larry (Renea) Davis of Eugene, Oregon. Also surviving are grandchildren: Kyle Kopplien, Joany Posch of Eugene, Oregon; Jennifer (Christopher) Cummins of Dallas, Oregon; Allen (Holly) Powell of Harrisburg, Oregon; Melissa (Jake) Powell of Peoria, Arizona; and Stephen (Chantielle) Adams of Junction City, Oregon. Great Grandchildren include Levi and Eli Cummins, Ryland Bolin, Maya and Caleb Powell, Arabella and Aurora Adams, and Brielle Miller. Kelly is also survived by brothers William, Robert, and James.
Kelly also leaves behind some special friends in his life: Denise, Sherry, Dawn and his special bonus grandchildren: Leila and Halia Fox of Albany, Oregon.
Services will be held Saturday February 1, 2025 at 12:00 at the youth center at Hope Church in Albany, Oregon. Contributions suggested in Kelly’s name to children’s ministry at Hope Church or to God Gear Transitional Housing through the YMCA.
Kelly will be remembered for his strong unwavering faith in his final years, his extreme generosity, and his ability to remain positive and upbeat no matter the situation. Fly high Grandpa.
