Kandy Kay Mumau passed away on Friday July 14 th after an extended battle with cancer. She was born at Sacred Heart Hospital May 20, 1952 to Gerald and Bonnie Mumau. Kandy attended Lincoln Elementary & Francis Willard, Woodrow Wilson Jr High and graduated from South Eugene High School in 1970. Kandy attended the nursing school at LCC where she achieved the LPN status. She eventually would achieve her RN status after attending Eastern Oregon Community College. When she graduated as an RN she was honored when her grandmother Beulah Klukkert (an RN who was a big motivator) was present to pin her RN pin on her during the graduation ceremony. She was a nurse most of her working life, practicing her skills in Bend, Baker City, Pendleton, the Salem/Dallas area, and as a contract nurse for the State of Oregon. She worked in many capacities in all levels of care. Kandy attended the Dallas United Methodist Church where she loved helping out and interacting with her church family. She loved gardening, travel, fishing and especially the Oregon Coast. She made many, many friends through her nursing but also made time to nurture relationships while serving as a volunteer with the Relay for Life program and its activities. She most recently held the position of Mission leadership chair for Relay for Life and offered nursing care and knowledge as needed to its volunteer base. Kandy will be remembered by her AA family for her strength battling cancer and her achievement of 25 plus years of sobriety.
Kandy is survived by her nephew Adam (Jessica) Mumau and her niece Amy Mumau, and adored her grand-nephew Aiden Fisher Mumau. In addition she is survived by her mother Bonnie Eastridge, her brother Brad (Cindy) Mumau and her step-mother Iva Mumau.
