Judith Dick, 81 years old, of Salem, OR sadly passed away peacefully in her home on September 29, 2023. Judie was diagnosed with Dementia and Alzheimer's. She was born to Lester and Shirley Slater on December 21, 1941. She grew up with her sister Karen Lemcke in Portland, OR. As a child, she loved to play hop scotch with her friends, as a teen, she enjoyed going to dances, and after high school she attended beauty school and then became a hairdresser. Judie loved to pamper her clients and color her own hair (her favorite color was pink).
In her twenties she met her husband Allen of 59 years in Portland, OR at a dance at the Division Street Corral. They fell in love and within two years started a family, complete with Tonia, Debbie, Katy, and Kristy. As a family they loved to go on drives, watch home movies, and play games. Being a homemaker later in life Judie provided love and support to her girls and was an enduring mother. Judie loved her family whole heartedly.
Her family will remember her as a loving mother and her passion for sewing, crocheting, music and 4-H. She valued honesty, love, compassion, leadership, and always had a smile even when times were tough.
Judie is survived by her four daughters and their families; Tonia, Debbie, Katy (John), and Kristy as well as 17 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and sister Karen. She preceded in passing by her father, mother, husband, and son-in-law Rick.
A memorial service for both Allen and Judie Dick will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 1 pm with a luncheon following.
