An earthly angel was called back to heaven.
We are devastated to announce the sudden passing of Joyce Diane (Crane) Granatir, 74, of Salem, Oregon. She left us on November 7, 2022 where she was surrounded by family who loved her with no end.
Joyce was born on September 11, 1948 to Merle and Hazel Crane in Salem, Oregon. After graduating from Cascade High School she went on to get her BA as a registered nurse. She loved her career as a nurse and it led her to meet the love of her life, her husband Robert F. Granatir.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert Granatir, her daughter Kimber Holstege, sons Orion and Brian Granatir, along with her stepchildren Cindy Granatir, Christine Granatir, and Jennifer (Granatir) Olson, her grandchildren Brady, Joshua, Cameron and Corey, her grand dogs whom she spent many hours snuggling and siblings Janet (Crane) Parish, Jerry Crane, Jim Crane and Joanne (Crane) Caldwell, as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Joyce was a kind and loving soul with a zest for life who had retired from nursing to enjoy gardening with her husband, travel with family, crafting, reading countless books, playing cards with her husband and kids after Sunday dinners, and doing more puzzles with her husband than anyone could count. She never turned down the opportunity to spend time with family even if it meant she had to watch football. She will be missed every single day, but life with love is a life that’s been lived. When God took her back he said Hallelujah you’re home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the Oregon Humane Society.
