James Gordon Douglas

James passed away peacefully at the family home of 71 years. He was the son of Margaret E. Douglas and George F. Douglas. James was a 1968 graduate of South Salem High School. He worked at the local canneries for 50 years, retiring from Norpac in 2017. James loved giving his brothers, sister, nephews and nieces large Christmases. The bright spot of his day was greeting the volunteers at the Salem Friends of the Library bookstore. The whole family and his friends said that he was the nicest person they have ever known. He is survived by his sister Georgia, and brothers John (wife Louise), Scott, Stephen, Thomas, many more nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Saturday May 18, 2024 at 1:00pm.
