Harold “Dave” David Shoemaker, 60, of Salem Oregon, lost his battle with cancer on Saturday January 28, 2017 at his home with family by his side. Born in Estacada Oregon on December 13, 1956, Dave was the oldest of Harold and Geraldine (Horner) Shoemaker's three children. He attended Estacada High School then he attended ITT Tech and went on to work for ESS, where he built scanners. Dave spent most of his life as a plumber for his family's plumbing business in Estacada.
Dave is survived by his 4 children; Timothy (Bonnie) of Dallas and Kimberly of Clackamas from his first marriage with Irene. Jennifer (James) of Newberg and Christopher (Sarah) of Salem from his second marriage with Alana. His Brother; Donald of Hillsboro, his sister; Shawn of Oregon City. His parents, Harold and Geraldine of Oregon City. As well as 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
While in prison he turned his life around and decided to follow the Lord. After spending 10 years in prison, he moved in with his youngest son, where he attended Salem Alliance Church and was baptised on Sunday June 5, 2016. He enjoyed fishing, boating, tinkering on old cars, as well as going to the coast, any chance he could. He loved walking the beach finding shells and rocks.
Dave will be remembered for his great sense of humor, willingness to help anyone in need, as well as his ability to fix just about anything.
Memorial Services will be held at 10 am on Saturday February 25, 2017 in Cedar Hall at Salem Alliance Church, with Pastor Gordon Bergman officiating. Reception immediately following.
