In loving memory of Evelyn Marie Troyer Johnson who passed away January 10, 2019 in Salem Oregon.
Evelyn, 77, was born in Oroville California and grew up in Sacramento California where she attended Pacific Elementary School, Stanford Junior High School and graduated from McClatchy High School, Class of 1959. Evelyn enjoyed a long career with the State of California, as well as working for a time with the University of the Pacific.
Evelyn was a voracious reader, a crafter of beautiful handmade crafts, and a lover of animals, particularly dogs. She enjoyed traveling, and was dedicated to her volunteer work and charitable giving to those in need.
Evelyn is survived by her son Michael Thomas Johnson, her daughter Julie Marie Johnson Pebley, her son-in-law Rick Pebley, and her cherished grandson Jourdan Pebley. She is also survived by her sister Doris Troyer, her brother Steven Troyer, and her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Mildred Troyer, her sisters Marion Troyer Roney and Ellen Troyer, and by her brother Wesley Troyer.
Evelyn was an amazing mother, sibling and friend, a woman of courage, perseverance, strength and pure love. We will love you forever and for always, Mama. “Don’t cry for me, I know where I’m going.”
A viewing will be held at the Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Salem Oregon on Friday January 18, 2019, at 12:30 p.m. followed by the service at 1:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Green Valley Cemetery in Rescue, California.
