With profound sadness we announce the passing of Esperanza (Hope), our loving and devoted mother, sister, aunt and friend to all whose lives she touched, on June 3rd, 2021. She left us peacefully with family by her side at her residence in Salem, Oregon. She was in her 67th year. She was born May 26th, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas, to Conseulo and Andres Alvarez.
Her family later moved to Oregon in 1961, where she lived out the rest of her years.
Esperanza was very devoted to all her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family, putting puzzles together, playing bingo and trips to the casino. In her younger years, she loved dancing and dominated in pool tournaments, she even won local pool championships.
Esperanza was predeceased by her parents, Consuelo and Andres Alvarez; sisters Alicia Ruiz and Adelfa Martinez; brother Andres Alvarez Jr. Survivors include her three daughters Nancy Clark, Angela Guzman and Sarah Buttram; siblings Pablo Alvarez, Raymond Alvarez, Tereza Lopez and Ester Espindola; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
