It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Emiko Tsunehiro Tugaw, who peacefully left us at the age of 91 on January 23, 2025. Born in Japan on January 18, 1934, Emiko's life was a testament to strength, resilience, and the joy of living. In 1954, she made the brave decision to move to the United States after falling for the love of her life, a U.S. soldier named Robert Tugaw.
Emiko’s journey from Japan to America marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with remarkable experiences. From the moment she stepped into her new life, Emiko embraced every opportunity with an open heart. Known as the life of the party, her warm spirit was an unforgettable presence in every room she entered.
Emiko lived a life of service, whether it was hosting family gatherings, cooking her renowned dishes, or simply volunteering as an Elks Lodge member, she found purpose in bringing happiness to others. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
In addition to her immediate family, Emiko will be missed by many friends and acquaintances whose lives she touched with her kind-hearted infectious spirit. While her absence leaves a void, her memory will forever be cherished.
