Edna Cheselene Worthington Crockett

December 1, 1929 — October 29, 2020

Edna Cheselene Worthington Crockett, the strongest woman I ever knew.  Born in Utica, Indiana, a year after the stock market collapsed.  Edna grew up during the great depression and had a very rough childhood. Her father, Joseph Worthington, worked for the U.S. Government, and Ruth Mae Lewis, her mother, was a homemaker.  She had ten brothers and sisters; Rudy, Violet, Bunker, Lucille, Jennie, Bill, Roy,  She is survived by three sisters, Vada, Liz, andJanet.

She married Charles Crockett on February 4, 1946.  They had two daughters and one son; Gloria Jean, Charles Jr. and Peggy Ann.  The family moved to Valsetz, Oregon in 1951 from Utica, Indiana.  Mom thought they were lost and going to die in the wilds of Oregon until they ran into a truck full of loggers.  She spent the next 45 years back and forth between Falls City and Valsetz and spent 20 years as the Falls City Public Librarian.  She loved that job.  After Charles passed away in 1995.  She moved to Salem to be closer to Charles and Peggy.  She loved her genealogy and spent much time compiling it, along with gardening, garages sales, and spending time with family.

She is survived by Charles (Ronda), and Peggy Richards.  Gloria passed away two years ago. She is also survived by grandchildren David (Lisa) Crockett, Cassie Torgrimson, Jeannie (Wayne) Thompson, Jacqui (Chris) Judd, David Emborsky, Alex Emborsky, Anne Richards, Wayne (Rita) Richards, Daniel Richards, Clarissa (Cody) Climer, Christine  (Ronnie) Wood, and 16 great-grandchildren and 2, great-great grandchildren.  Her youngest great, Harley Jean (10 months old) spent a lot of time with her.  She so enjoyed her “little Jeanie) named after her aunt Gloria Jean

She was a very strong, opinionated, stubborn woman who will be missed by many.
