Dorothy Jane (Wickens) Ross

Dorothy was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Sophie and Arthur Wickens. As a toddler, her family moved to Tacoma, Washington. She attended school there, graduating from Lincoln High School, then onto college at Pacific Lutheran University.

She met her future husband at a dance at Fort Lewis, WA. They were married on January 26, 1946. They had three children.

She was a homemaker. She was very involved in her children's activities. She became a Brownie Leader and a Cub Scout leader. Gardening and knitting were things she enjoyed in her spare time.

She moved to Oregon in 1964 and lived in Lk. Oswego, Portland, and Scholls, before moving to Salem. While living in Scholls she was a member of the Scholls Women's Club. She also ran her own antique shop: Scholls Ferry Antiques.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Wesley; as well as a daughter Terrie Ross (Salem) and son Greg Ross (Bend). Nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters: Margie Johnson, and Ruth Wickens. Her youngest daughter, Kathy Flath died in December, 2003.
