Dorothy Edna Draper

January 5, 1930 — February 23, 2017

Dorothy Edna Draper passed away on February 23, 2017, she was born Janurary 5, 1930 in Rupert, Idaho to Estil Patrick and Della Geneve Halpin. Dorothy was one of ten children. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaching the people of the East Central States. After returning from her mission Dorothy attended Idaho State College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Soon after graduation she moved to San Diego; some of her fondest career memories were of her days spent teaching elementary school. Later, Dorothy went on to get her Ph.D. in Psychology and worked as a Psychologist for the Barstow Unified School District until she retired in 1995.

On December 18, 1959 she married Kenneth Darrell Draper, a year later they welcomed their daughter, Tracille Geneve on a very special Christmas Eve. Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Ruth Follick and Trudy Shapiro, and Brother Patrick Halpin II, daughter, Tracy (Mark) Bybee, grandchildren, Rachel (Pete) Hawkins, great grandchildren, Eleanor and Neil Hawkins, Rivkah (KC) Raines, great grandchildren, Remy and Lochlan Raines, Joelle (Alex) Rane, and Samuel (Ashleigh) Bybee.

Dorothy was known as the "candy lady" at church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is now reunited with her sweet prince Kenneth Draper.

We look forward to the day when we will meet again.
