Cassie Kay (Kaiser) McAllister, born on December 24, 1975, in Dodge City, Kansas, passed away on December 2, 2024, in Salem, Oregon, after a courageous battle with cancer that began in 2020. She was 48 years old.
Cassie lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, moving as a child through various states including Kansas, Oklahoma, Utah, and Idaho, as her father, Dick Kaiser, pursued his career as a college football coach. The family eventually settled in Salem, Oregon, where Cassie excelled in her academics and extracurricular activities at the Salem-Keizer public schools. She graduated from Sprague High School in 1994, where she participated in basketball and earned letters in cheerleading and golf.
Her academic journey continued at the University of Oregon before transferring to Olivet College in Michigan. Cassie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in social science and English in 1998. Following her college years, she ventured to Arizona, where she explored various life experiences for approximately two years before returning to Oregon in 2000.
Professionally, Cassie found her calling in the health care sector. Starting as an activities director at an assisted living facility in Stayton, Oregon, she dedicated herself to earning various certifications and advancing her career. Over time, Cassie became the lead administrator in assisted care and memory care facilities in Silverton, Oregon, and earned recognition as a state-certified Health Care Administrator. After leaving Silverton, Cassie worked for Marquis Health Care in Portland for 19 years before returning to Salem. Despite her ongoing battle with cancer, she continued to work at Signature Health Care in Portland for many years, where she held positions as both the office manager and promotional manager.
Cassie's greatest love and proudest accomplishments were her children, Jack McAllister, aged 18, and Lucy McAllister, aged 14. She found immense joy in watching them participate in their various activities and sports. Cassie's warm spirit and the close friendships she cultivated throughout her life were invaluable to her.
She is survived by her son, Jack, and daughter, Lucy, her father, Dick Kaiser of Yorkville, Illinois, her brother, Ryan Kaiser of Sugar Grove, Illinois, and her former husband, Jason McAllister of Salem, Oregon. Cassie was preceded in death by her mother, Connie Kaiser, who passed away in 2019.
