Brenda Darlene Taylor

May 30, 1949 — August 11, 2019

Brenda Darlene Taylor age 70 of Dallas Oregon passed away Sunday August 11, 2019 surrounded by family in her home of Dallas, Oregon.

Brenda was born May 30, 1949 to parents Robert and Nadine Hathcoat. They moved to Barstow California her senior year, where she graduated from Barstow High School in 1967 and had previously attended school in Thousand Oaks California.

In 1967-1968 she met Vernon Taylor, the love of her life! They happily married September 3rd of 1968. The following year, 1969, she gave birth to her first Daughter Christina Taylor. In 1973 she gave birth to their second Daughter Vonnie Taylor. They raised their girls in Barstow where their dad was born. Vernon preceded her in death in 1991.

In 1992 she met Don Imhoof, (aka Pepe) Don was a perfect companion during this time in Brenda’s life and helped keep her family complete. They lived in Anaheim California until 2001 when they moved to Dallas Oregon. Don preceded her in death in 2014.

Brenda enjoyed many activities including bowling (her favorite), canasta, macrame, crochet, knitting, cross stitch, ceramics, bead classes, (especially because she always did those activities with her mom and sisters). She finally discovered her hidden talent of drawing. She made this discovery when she helped her daughter Christina in her art class. Her favorite activity was family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren. She was amazed at the love she had as a mother and often shared that her love for her grandchildren was the most fantastic experience yet! Although if she had been to an Elvis concert, that would have been the most fantastic experience. For those who knew her well, knew she loves her some Elvis.

Brenda is known for having a twinkle in her eyes. One eye twinkles because of her husband Vernon, Christina and Vonnie and the other twinkles for Diana, Jody, Austin, Mikayla.

In our family we are all represented as totems; Dad is the Rainbow, Mom is the stars, Christina is water, Diana is the trees, Vonnie is clouds, Jody is the sky, Austin is the dirt, Mikayla is the flowers, and Pepe (Don) is the moon. This was created by our beloved Don and Jody and how we grew to understand our connection to earth and life.

As her loved ones gathered to be with her in her last days and hours their was an overwhelming similarity in love and appreciation for Brenda’s unconditional love. She truly loved us all without judgement while being very present with us in the moment. She called it as she saw it and could do so with such loving accuracy. Brenda was a beloved wife, mom, sister, grandma, aunt and friend to anyone who needed one. Her love knew no bounds. She will be truly loved and missed forevermore in our hearts. Brenda is what a wondrous miracle looks like. She defied the odds and what doctors would say (chances were slim and not make it after all her surgery's and other issues for past 3yrs). She would prove them wrong every time, even til the end; three more days. What a will of love and strength for life! She taught us how to be strong and endure life.

Brenda is preceded in Death by her husband, parents, and twin sister Linda Thomas.

Brenda is survived by Daughter Christina Taylor and her wife Diana Ramos and Daughter Vonnie Taylor, grandchildren Jody Friend, Austin Friend, and Mikayla Cavallucci, sisters Sharon Harper, and Connie Figueras, brother Allen Cromwell, nephews Sam, Jay, Mike, Eric, and Bobby, sister-in-law Carol, nieces Sonia, Terri Anne, Ronda, and Cammie, great nieces, nephews and Great Great niece, and her Church family and many blessed friends!
