Almira "Myra" Beckett Johnston

Almira (Myra) Viola Becket Johnston was born on June 19, 1941, to Hallice and Almira Beckett in Portland, Oregon. Myra passed away on October 19, 2024, at the age of 83.

Myra graduated from Pasadena High School in 1959. She attended Western Oregon University (OES), where she met James Johnston.

During the early years of their marriage, Myra worked as a legal secretary for a law firm in Salem. She was heavily involved in the Officer Wives' clubs, supporting the wives and hosting social events while her husband served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.

Myra loved to serve at church or in whatever job she held. She was also an accomplished pianist and accompanist, a talented seamstress, and a successful home-based business owner. Her hobbies included interior design and painting.

Myra married James Johnston on June 9, 1962. She is survived by her children, son Scott Johnston and daughter Denise Nielsen. Jim and Myra had six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
