Words from her husband Alan...

9 years ago, I had no idea I was going to meet the most influential person in my life. I was just returning from overseas and was working at returning my Brigade from Afghanistan when I received this phone call. I answered the phone and someone on the other line introduced herself. She said that I may not know her, but she has been taking care of my Niece for a bit and that she was having difficulty with her. She wanted to know if I had any suggestions to help her out. I instantly went in to Senior NCO Counsel Mode. I gave her suggestions and told her to call any time of day or night. Little did I know she was actually going to do it. She called me several times after that and sometimes it was 3 in the morning. We talked a lot and realized that we had run into each other at the hospital a couple of times. We seemed to have hit it off pretty well. I came back to assist in taking care of my Niece to help lift her burden. She offered to pick me up at the airport. I of course gallantly said it was no bother, I can get back. Trena being Trena over-ruled that idea and brought along her daughter. I had no idea that I was going to be scrutinized so closely by Elizabeth. Needless to say, for those who know how Trena drives, the trip was…interesting. I was able to take some time off to re-adjust to civilian life and had the opportunity to spend most of this time getting to know Trena. We really hit it off well. We dated for a while and after all the scrutinizing by her children I finally worked up the nerve to ask them if I could marry their mom. They gave me their blessing and I made the leap and took a chance. She said yes. Through these past 9 years it has been a rollercoaster ride. But I have to say that Trena helped guide me back into this life and supported me in everything I ever tried to do. She was always the voice of reason when my temper was getting the best of me. She was my light at the end of the day. She was my anchor when I was in the storm. She was my compass that always brought me home. She taught me how to love and care for others and understand their needs are as great as mine. She taught me to be giving to those in need. She calmed me when I was in turmoil. There were times that she frustrated me so much I couldn’t see straight, but then I would step back and just watch her and all that she was would and all that she did would bring me back. She has made such an impact on my life I can’t imagine ever topping that. Sweetheart, you may be gone from this life but you will never be gone from my heart. I love you.

Messages of Sympathy

  1. Rachel T says:

    How did she die?

  2. Mezmerized by her story says:

I've only heard some stories and am completely obsessed, like I can't wait for the next episode of a lifetime movie. I want to learn more and get to know her as much as I can. Everyone I've read, and the person I was told about her first, were blessed with an angel. Earthly bound way to short, but everyone should be greatful to GOD for putting her in each of your lives.

  3. Jaimie says:

She was my mentor, mom and now angel watching over me. I would not be who I am today if she never had walked into my life. I miss her more everyday.

  4. William says:

  5. Myrle U'Ren says:

I am so sad to hear that her sweet spirit is no longer with us. Although I haven't seen her in over twenty years we were roommates for over a year in Moses Lake Wa, I can only say my heart goes out to her children.

I met trena a few times. She was a loving and caring person. So selfless that she helped me in my time of need. She always asked her daughter to let me know whenever I need anything to let her know. I love her daughter very much. Their self need to help others is Undescribable. I wish she was still here with you babe. If you see this I love you. We are sorry we couldn't be there for you. I know you need me. But I'll get better soon. I'm sorry. Your mom loves you very much and she was the best woman ever on this planet. Her good deeds will always be remembered. Just for that she will have a special place in everyone's heart. Rip trena May god bless your soul. Amen
