Obituary

Terresa “Teri” A. Martin passed away unexpectedly at the age of 66 July 24th, 2021 of natural causes.

Teri Was born October 3rd 1954 in Salem, OR to Melvin and Wilma McNeill.  Throughout her life she lived in Monmouth, Independence, Salem and the Portland area.  In 1972 she graduated from Central High School in Independence, OR.  After graduation, life took her in many different directions and on that journey she had two sons, Shawn and Damon whom she loved greatly.  In 1999 she graduated from Chemeketa Community College in Salem, OR with an Associate Degree in Human Services.  For a short time she worked as a Social Worker for the State of Oregon.  She was also employed at various nursing home facilities working in resident placement and compliance.

Most recently she lived in the Albany-Corvallis area where she worked as a Teacher Assistant for the Greater Albany School district.  She enjoyed her job and was very passionate about helping her students learn and succeed.

Teri loved her family, her little dog Bailey and spending time with her granddaughters. She was a person that found joy in helping others and found humor in life.  She never hesitated in passionately supporting those things closest to her heart and had an infectious laugh that couldn’t be ignored.

Teri is survived by her mother Wilma Loewen of Salem, OR, son Shawn Raines (Melony) of Lyons, OR, son Damon Martin of Ocean Park, WA, grandchildren Mara and Sadie Raines of Lyons, OR, brothers Ken McNeill of Creswell, OR and Dave McNeill of Creswell, OR, sisters Elaine Clarke of West Linn, OR, Janice Owens of Independence, OR, Patricia Singh of Rice Hill, OR and Betty Bryson of Molalla, OR,  as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She is much loved and will be enormously missed.
