Obituary

Sylvia passed away quietly at home on March 16, 2021. She was born Sylvia Ann Brand on January 18, 1952 in Clinton, Iowa. Although she was born in Iowa, she spent most of her life living in Oregon. Sylvia had two children, Gena and Melissa. Sylvia met Dennis White in Lakeview, Oregon. They married in 1982 and became a family. They have been married for thirty-eight years.

Sylvia worked for 15 years at Supra. She loved to play cards and nurture her beautiful roses. Her family was always her priority.

Sylvia is proceeded in death by her parents, her younger brother, David Brand, and her older sister Jerry Ramsey Shores. She is survived by her husband Dennis White from Salem, Gena Boak from Salem, and Melissa Leftridge, from Lakeview, OR. She has 4 grandchildren, Kelsi Anne Cone, Kristina Ann Lucore, Ethan Wayne Lucore, and Dustin Mobley.  She also has a sister, Betty Miller Webb, in Largo, Florida, and a brother, Leo Edwin Ramsey in Reno, NV. There are several nieces and nephews that will miss her very much.

When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take,
And each must go alone.
It’s all part of the Master’s Plan,
A step on the road home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart,
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds,
Miss me, but let me go.

Dennis, Gena and Melissa and family,
Prayers for all of you during this difficult time.
I have cherished memories of all of you and especially Sylvia.
I remember most famously the days at Pizza Villa where I worked for probably 7 or 8 yrs.
Great times and good memories. I remember when Dennis and Sylvia met and started dating, wow, where did 38 yrs go?!?
We were almost like family back then, and I pray for you as family now. Would love to touch base soon and talk of cherished memories.
    Love you all.

  4. Betty Miller Webb says:

Dear Dennis, Gena, Melissa, and family,
I loved my little sister so much. We shared a room when we were little. I was a big sister to Sylvia and David. We used to play fun games like Hide and Seek and Red Rover. At one of our houses, we had Walnut and Hickory Nut trees. It was fun to collect the nuts. As adults, we lived miles apart, but we tried to stay in touch with notes, e-mail, and phone calls. There will always be a big hole in my heart. I can't believe she is gone. I know the Lord has welcomed her into our everlasting home.
