It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Sharon Jean Freeman. She went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her family, in her home on June 8, 2024.

Sharon Jean Clark was born March 22,1949, in Southern California. As a young teenager, she moved in with her aunt and uncle until she got married to Monty Freeman in 1968. They had two daughters: Saundra and Melonie. The four of them had many fun times fishing and camping together.

The family then moved to Northern California, where Sharon enjoyed being the secretary of Woodland Bible Church.

In 1989, the family moved to Salem, Oregon and Sharon started working for the Salem Clinic where she retired in 2014.

Her oldest, Saundra, has two children, Brandon (23) and Megan (20).  Her youngest, Melonie, has been married to Doug Watson for 18 years. Sharon was a devoted wife, a caring mother, and a very loving grandma.

Sharon loved to spend time with her family. She was known for miraculously getting bursts of energy whenever her grandchildren showed up. She would truly do anything for those two.

She loved her Jesus and wanted her family to know and love Jesus, too.

One of Sharon’s favorite activities was going on family camping and beach trips. She loved laughing and playing games with everyone. She always brought oatmeal cookies, and would bring a bag of every person’s favorite chips.

Sharon loved Hallmark movies; around Christmastime, she would keep a detailed list of every movie she wanted to record.

Every holiday was celebrated at her house with lots of chocolate desserts. No one left hungry and everyone was sent home with leftovers.

Sharon enjoyed spending time at the ocean, whale watching and watching the waves crash against the rocks. She loved to be in her backyard, sitting on her porch swing, admiring her flowers and watching the hummingbirds eat from their feeders.

She loved every second she spent with her husband, Monty. They shared 56 beautiful years together.

We had a small service with the immediate family. Sharon will be greatly missed, and we will carry her with us in our hearts forever.
