Obituary

Rev. Santos Vega was born in Los Fresnos, Texas July 11, 1944 and promoted to glory January 12, 2019 in Salem, Oregon.

He gave his heart to Christ in 1983 and received his calling into ministry in 1985. He pastored Bethel Christian Center for 23 years which he and his wife co-founded. He spent his life skill in carpentry but his life’s call in building people. He loved watching his Dallas Cowboys and Texas A/M professional and college football teams and spending his moments with his wife, family and friends. He will be forever missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents Tereso and Francisca Vega, brothers Tereso Vega Jr, Tereso Simon Vega, sisters Gladys Vega Salazar and America Deborah Vega.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years Alisia P. Vega (Chachi his dog), siblings Joel Vega (and wife Lydia), Valentine Vega (and wife Francis), Elvira Vega, Moses Alvarez, Mary Castano. All his beloved children, Ray Alderete (and wife Elizabeth), Cathy Valero Tyrrel (and husband Scott), Dean Valero (and Partner Jack), Janice Vega-Liros (and Wife Sarah), Sylvia Vega, Santos Vega, Dennis Valero ( and wife Sunny), Denny Valero (and wife Iris) and MaryAnn Vega (and husband Pierrez). In addition, he leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Jonathan Vega, Joe Mendez, Jr, Valerie Vega Boren, Matthew Vega, Santos Vega III, Cody Vega, Scott Tyrrel Jr (and wife Beth), Tom Tyrrel (and wife Shirin), Velicia Valero, Eric Vega, Pilar Vega, Dazzline Vega Bueno, Kallista Vega, Savior Vega, Ray Alderete Jr (and Chantel), Jeremy Alderete, Zachary Alderete, Kenneth Valero and Caleb Valero including numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, Great grandfather to Pierce Tyrel, Raylene Tyrrel and eleven other great-grandchildren. He was loved by so many and affectionately known as Pastor by many more.

A funeral service will be held at Del Valle Assembly of God Church 606 Dearborn Ave NE, Keizer, OR 97303 on Friday January 18th. 9am viewing, 10:30 service, 12:30 graveside. Dennis Valero (his son) and Denny Valero (his son) are officiants at the funeral service.

    I will surely miss you! So many thoughts come to mind when I think of you, but the one thing I do remember and chuckle at is the way you would tilt your head down and raise an eyebrow haha.
