Paul Sheldon Reynolds was born December 18, 1937 in Pound, Virginia to Virgil and Lona Reynolds.
He married Carolyn Sue Rogers on August 13, 1971 in Reno, Nevada.
Paul retired from the U.S. Department of Energy in September 1998 and worked as a contract inspector on several government jobs until January of 2015.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and gardening.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1963. His outfit was deployed overseas to France during the Bay of Pigs.
He worked at Kennedy Space Center for NASA and raised the first American Flag to fly over the new moon port in 1965 and was later given an autographed card signed by the first three men on the moon.
Survivors include his sons Rick and Steve of Las Vegas, NV. David of Winlock, WA, Dennis of Blue Ridge, VA and daughters Paula Franklin of Eugene, OR, and Nancy Nelson of Keizer, OR.
Five brothers Bernard and Dan of Oakridge, OR, Joe of Pound, VA, Ronnie of Moorhead, KY, Farrell of Bedford, VA, and sisters Mildred Nygren of Minneapolis, MN, Bernice Potter of Pound, VA, Marceline Maier of Colorado Springs, CO preceeded him in 2011.
He has 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn who passed January 28, 2018.
