Mary Ann (VanWinkle) Hutcheson, 81, was promoted from this life on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 10:35 PM in Salem, OR. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, E.C. ‘Hutch’ Hutcheson, her children, Jeff Hutcheson of Klamath Falls, OR, and Mary Beth Hutcheson of Salem, OR, two grandchildren, four siblings and multiple extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hettie Ann and Seddie Edward VanWinkle.
Mary Ann was born on November 25, 1934, on Oak Ridge outside of the community of Bristow, Indiana. Since her birth, her life has revolved around church and family. She graduated from Conquerors Bible College in Portland, OR, in 1959 and went on to wed Hutch in 1961 at Landmark United Pentecostal Church in North Bend, OR.
She considered her position as wife, mother and homemaker to be her calling in life, second only to pleasing God. She fulfilled both with gusto. Nothing pleased her more than fixing a meal for family and friends, participating in church functions, cleaning the house with a vacuum cleaner or rearranging the furniture…yet again! She also loved laughing, reading and the family camping trips to Happy Camp near Bly, Oregon.
Mary Ann and Hutch lived in Klamath Falls for 48 years. In the spring of 2015, they moved to Salem, OR, but retain many fond memories of the years with family and friends in Southern Oregon. Mary Ann spent her time in Salem tending her garden and being amazed at how fast and lush flowers grow in the valley. She also enjoyed making new friends and participating in local church activities.
Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of the interment service at City View Cemetery in Salem, OR, on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 1 PM. This would have been Mary Ann’s 82nd birthday. A Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017, 11 AM at Christian World Fellowship, 4932 Liberty Rd S, Salem OR 97306. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Tupelo Children’s Mansion at mansionkids.org.
Isaiah 25:8 “He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces…” Mom, wife, grandmother, sister, friend - you are missed and we are sad for our loss but happy for your gain.

What a sweet Godly lady with a willing heart and a ready smile... So many great memories we have with this family... Her home was always an oasis of comfort with coffee anytime... She will be missed greatly.

This lady was truly a wonderful Christian lady. Alway a big smile radiated from her. She was there with open arms. Yes, she loved her God, her church and her family. Anyone that knew her was blessed.
May Mary Ann's love for the Lord and family and her brotherly love and service to the church will be remembered by many.

Mrs Hutcheson was always so warm, loving, happy and fun! I never saw her have a bad day--she always made the day better. She had an infectious life! She's given that light to her fabulous daughter, Mary Beth. Who will continue to brighten others paths with her sweet songs and laughter! Let's bake homemade chocolate chip cookies soon as we use to do.
Mary Ann was a beautiful person who clearly raised a wonderful family. She will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones. Thank you for the trust placed in Johnson Funeral Home.
