Obituary

The children of Marcel Iniguez are deeply saddened to announce the passing of their mother. Marcel passed on May 5, 2020 at the age of 68. She will forever be loved and remembered by her children: Veronica Dahl (Daniel), Jason Fong (Lea), Brandy Fong, Tiffany Hutchison (Justin), Stefanie Goodman (Thomas) and her twelve grandchildren that she adored: Jaden, Ciera, Tyler, Dominic, Dylan, Colin, Zachary, Neena, Caley, Brooklyn, Capri and Morgan.

Marcel was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Fong and Margret Fong and sister, Marion Valadez. She is survived by her brothers and sisters: Maxine Sotelo, Monica Merritt, Marina Rivard, Marcia Fong, Margie Reynoso, Marty Fong and Marcus Mueller.

Marcel was born in Willows, California and was raised in College City, California. She came from a big family and was the 4th oldest of 9 children. Marcel graduated from Williams High School in 1969. She lived most of her life in Arbuckle, California before moving to Salem, Oregon in 2005 to be close to her first grandchild.

She enjoyed watching movies, listening to audiobooks, reminiscing about the good ole days, sharing stories with her grandchildren and testing her luck at the slot machines. Her greatest passion in life was family. She lived for the time spent with her beautiful children and beautiful grandchildren who were her world.

We know she is not alone as she took a part of all of us with her. She is “our” angel watching over us and will forever be in our hearts.

Messages of Sympathy

  1. Michael Hassing says:

I met Marcel working at the Albany Walmart, as she was low key, one of the funniest people I worked with. She gave the best expressions and side-eye I have ever seen. I will miss her intensely <3

  2. Ruth Bartley says:

I first met Marcel working at Wal-Mart in Albany. She was stubborn, a very hard worker. We had lots of funny moments, and she shared her love of her audio books with me in breaks. I was sad when she left Wal-Mart. But then I started at Spirit mountain and was so overjoyed to see her there. I got the biggest hug from her..I will never forget you Marcel..you are very special!

  3. Rob says:

I am so sorry to hear about your mothers passing. Marcel was a very special woman. I have such fond memories of growing up and spending a lot of time with your family. Growing up for me was a challenge at my early age, I can remember your mother Marcel taking me in when no one believed in me. It speaks volumes of this Angel. I am a different person in huge part because of you guys and your mother. One thing for sure, heaven added an angel. Rest In Peace Marcel thank you for letting me into your and your families life. Until we see each other again (mom)..

  5. Debbie Jimenez says:

I have many memories of running around with Marcel in College City in our younger years growing up together (along with the rest of the family). She raised a beautiful family and I can only wish that all of us had been able to stay better in touch as the years passed. She will always hold a special place in my heart as will the rest of the family. I am so sorry that she left us so soon.
