Obituary

We are sad to announce the death of our beautiful Kiara Giselle Garnica Suarez. She passed at the young age of 24 at home, in Salem Oregon. Kiara was born on January 30th, 1999 to parents Guadalupe Suarez and Aurelio Garnica. She spread her wings and flew towards heaven on April 9th, 2023. Kiara leaves behind her two parents and siblings Alexis Garnica, Yara Lucero Garnica and Ricardo Alonzo Garnica Suarez.

She loved her siblings so much. As their mother, I recall them always playing together. The three younger ones were behind Alexis all the time. I would try to read books to them but they just wanted to play instead. She loved to sing Justin Bieber songs alongside Yara. After an exhausting day of school, and even after musical rehearsals, she would come home and joke around with Ricardo.

Kiara was an ambitious child that liked to plan many things for her future. She was full of life, had many dreams and was incredibly talented. You could see this talent and ambition since before she could speak. As a baby she always had a serious look on her face, as if she was listening intently to what you were saying. Her big eyes would look at you and she would blabber nonsense until you were having a full on conversation. As she grew so did her ability to express herself, whether it was through her words, her voice or her art. The curiosity in her mind was endless –– Kiara wanted to know everything and questioned the meaning of it all. She was also never afraid to speak her mind and included her thoughts based on her own experiences, and from those around her as well. Kiara also loved to swim, play basketball, volleyball, and participated in track & field and musicals in High School. After graduation, she attended the University of Oregon to study psychology.

She leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will all miss her greatly. Thank you all for your unconditional love that you all have shown us. We will forever thank you and God bless you all. With love, Garnica Suarez Family.
