Obituary

Karen Ranee Moorhead Clausen, age 81, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023 at Oregon Veterans Home in Lebanon surrounded by her family.  She was born on May 26, 1941 in Rochester, Minnesota to Gordon Wilson Moorhead and Evelyn Lorraine Leighton Moorhead.  She married LeRoy Harold Clausen in The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa on December 22, 1956.

Karen was raised in Minnesota.  She was a wife with unending devotion.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.  She was a creative and dedicated homemaker.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family.  She and her husband were members of the Willamette Historical Auto Club.  Her favorite pastimes include knitting and crocheting, listening to country music, and watching westerns.  She was a huge fan of Roy Rogers and John Wayne.

She is survived by six sons, Dennis Clausen (Tammy) of Salem, Oregon, Darren Clausen (Mary) of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Derrick Clausen (Amy) of Independence, Missouri, Douglas Clausen (Dawn) of Molalla, Oregon, Dustin Clausen (Teresa) of Aumsville, Oregon, and Darrell Clausen (Sunny) of Athens, Tennessee; 1 sister Lesa Williams (Grant) of Modesto, California; 14 grandchildren Aubrey McClure, Kimberly Clausen, Kevin Clausen, Meghan Blair, Anthony Clausen, Nicholas Clausen, Blake Clausen, Jena Shipley, Madeline Clausen, Hayley Clausen, Zachary Clausen, Cody Clausen, Chloe Clausen, and Colt Clausen; and 6 great grandchildren, Damian Lindemann, Jade Lindemann, Shelby Clausen, Reese Blair, Sutton Blair, and Dixie Clausen.  Extended surviving family includes numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband LeRoy, both parents and brother, Rodney Moorhead.

Viewing will be 10:00am to noon on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home, Salem, Oregon.  Memorial service, officiated by Miles Johnson, and interment will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Willamette National Cemetery.
