Messages of Sympathy

  1. Judy Aden says:

I met John through my husband, Keith. Occasionally, he would accompany us on hikes. He was with us when we summited Mt. Adams in 1987. He loved the outdoors and would often tell us about his hiking trips.

We shared a love of reading and we'd discuss books. We both loved historical fiction but he had diverse interests. I always enjoyed talking with him about whatever he was reading.

He worked on many home and garden projects but seemed to most enjoy the time he spent in his backyard garden.

I will truly miss having John stop by, serving him his favorite Earl Grey tea (sugar only) that I kept on hand just for him and catching up with what's been going on in each of our lives.

  2. Keith Aden says:

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. I have known John since the mid 70's at Elixir Ind. in Aurora OR. where we were the Purchasing Dept for the division. We shared a love for the outdoors and hiking in the Cascades. The favorite hikes in the 70's were around Mt. Hood (40 miles), around the Three Sisters (54 miles) and the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness (24 miles). John was a kind soul, he always loved his garden and would show up with blueberries or something else from his backyard garden harvest. He also enjoyed baking deserts to deliver every Christmas. The last few times that we were together were at Christmas or sharing a beer or two at Salem brewpubs.

Judy and I will miss him very much.
