Obituary

Jared Thomas Wettlaufer passed away unexpectedly at home on October 8, 2016 in Eugene, Oregon at the age of 26.

Jared is survived and loved by his father and step-mother, Thomas and Sheila Wettlaufer of Salem, Oregon, mother and step-father, Sheree and James Lerman of Portland, Oregon; fiancé, Cheryl Fisher of Eugene, Oregon; two-month old daughter, Leila Wettlaufer; sisters and brothers, Elaina (and Mark) Andreasen, Katelyn (and Kyle) Smith, Melissa, Heather, and Andrew Wettlaufer, Jake and Jordan Gardner, and Elijah Lerman; nephews and nieces, Tyler and Clara Andreasen, and Madison Smith. Jared also loved and is loved by his fiance’s daughters, Sofi and Fierna.

Jared was born on January 22, 1990 in Red Bluff, California to Tom and Sheree, the fourth child of six. He was the first boy and delighted his parents and three sisters.

Jared was an accomplished singer and guitarist and had a natural gift for writing original music. He had a dry wit and beautiful smile. He was passionate about the great outdoors and loved to rock climb. He loved his family dearly and had recently become involved in genealogy.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, October 14, 2016; 1:00 pm at The LDS Stake Center, 4550 Lone Oak Rd. SE, Salem, Oregon. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jared’s life.
