Obituary

Jim Buckley, 75, of Lyons, Oregon passed away of cancer on Sunday, August 13th.

He was born in Salem, OR on November 11, 1947. Jim lived in the Portland area and graduated from Clackamas High School in 1965. He attended Portland Community College & Portland State University before moving to Carson City, Nevada where he continued his education. He graduated with two degrees in Engineering & Business from San Jose State University.  Jim worked for Pac Bell as a lineman starting in Nevada & ending as an IT Tech for AT&T in San Jose, CA. He then retired in 2016 and moved back to Oregon.

He loved going sailing on his boat out of Santa Cruz, CA, but his greatest love was geocaching and off-roading with his friends exploring the wilderness. It was a treasure hunt and became an addiction of fun. He loved to explore & take trips with his son such as Yellowstone. He went on a Viking river cruise in Europe seeing many different countries.

Jim loved working with the 4H kids. He volunteered for a couple years and was highly praised. He helped transport disabled kids with his 4x4 truck to get them to a special camp. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting with his family.  Jim was a very kind & generous good spirit. He made friends with whomever he met.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents James & Ruby Buckley, brothers, David Jones, Steve Buckley and sister Patricia Buckley.

He is survived by his wife Diane; children, Benjamin Buckley, Jennifer (Rick) Ugelstad, Jennine Busch; sisters Linda O’Hallaran, Suzan Vidal, & Sondra Lee; 7 grandchildren & 2 Great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews.
