Obituary

Early in the morning on Friday, October 27th, 2023, Gary Jones, age 68, passed away peacefully. He was born to Cameron and Ellen Jones on February 20th, 1956 in Nampa, Idaho.

Gary grew up in Weiser, Idaho, where he graduated from Weiser High School in 1974. Gary had many hobbies which included baseball, hunting, fishing, water sports, and a love for watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers. He was known for being a die hard Packers fan nearly all of his life. Gary settled with his family in Payette, Idaho, where he started working for May Trucking Company. He eventually transferred to the May Trucking in Brooks, Oregon. Upon his transfer, he settled in in Salem, Oregon with his family, where he and his wife raised their two daughters. While raising his daughters, Gary continued his love for baseball by being involved in his daughters passion for softball. Gary had another love, one of his best friends, his dog named Sam, who was a loyal companion to Gary for many many years, and then also to his daughters after they were born. He never forgot and always missed her. Gary continued to work for May Trucking for 30 years before retiring in 2019. Gary is preceded in death by his father, Cameron, stepfather, Delbert, his mother, Ellen, and his brother Ron. He is survived by brothers, Kevin (Shamera), and Bob (Pat); and sister, Sandy (Mark); daughters, Shannon (Matthew), and Jasmine (Nick); his seven grandchildren, Ayden, Lane, Damian, Cheyenne, Ira, Piper, and April; as well as many nephews and nieces.

He was loved by all in his family and will be greatly missed.
