Obituary

Craig Kuhns, age 46, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2019 surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born on February 1, 1972, to Beverly and Mike Kuhns in Salem. He is survived by his parents, brother Ryan, sister and brother-in-law, Kristin and Shane Britton, nephew Aidan, and his partner Steve Reed. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Blanca, and his cat Paris.

Craig loved cars from an early age and could name the brand of nearly every car on the road. His pride and joy was a 1955 Chevrolet 2-door that he and his Dad restored to perfection.

For the past 19 years, Craig was a beloved bus driver for the Beaverton School District, and he loved his kids. Traveling abroad and sometimes closer to home in a vintage trailer he restored with his brother and dad brought him a great deal of joy. He was very family oriented and loved big holiday gatherings. Naturally sentimental, he saved birthday cards, antique grape clusters, teapots, and various items from grandparents.

Craig will be greatly missed by his large extended family and many close friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 26, 2019 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at the Oregon Garden Resort. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Oregon Humane Society.

I met Craig in 1993 and we became instant friends. I worked on every car Craig owned starting with a Subaru Impreza. The Vintage trailer was my aunt Mary's and it was an exciting day when his father and uncle and Craig and I went out on a lonely 1 lane road in the hills outside of Corvallis, Oregon and rescued it. He was the kind of person you could have a 4 hour conversation with and feel like it was just a minute of your time. Craig had exquisite taste in everything especially interior design. I will miss him greatly and loved him with all my heart. Good bye my friend

I never met Craig but when I read his story I was saddened because he was much too young, only 46. May you be comforted by God’s promise of a resurrection where he can continue to live in a paradise earth where death will be no more. Revelation 21:3,4. Psalms 37:10,11

I didn't get to see my cousin Craig very often, but I always looked forward to his stories and sharp sense of humor. He was so expressive, which made every anecdote hilarious. It still doesn't feel like he's gone, because I still feel his warmth and smile. Love you Craig! Love to the Kuhns family
