Connie Smith, age 75, fell asleep in death, Sunday May 13, 2018, after enduring the results of leukemia for eleven years. Her memorial will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 975 Mildred Ln SE, Salem, OR Tuesday may 22, 2018 at 7pm.
Connie was born, January 10, 1942, in Ashland, Ohio to Harlan and Rosemary Hartsel, and resided in Ashland, OH, Rivera Beach, Fl., Stuart, Fl., Jacksonville, AL., Greenville, SC., and Salem, OR since June 1, 2009.
She enjoyed reading, camping, fishing, and spending time with her family of three children: 2 boys 1 daughter and a husband of 53 years. Her greatest joy however, was teaching people, that soon the last enemy, death, would be brought to nothing. 1Cor. 15:26. And enjoyed doing this daily, until a combination of tuberculosis, leukemia and a stroke limited her activity. Her ending joy was sharing the apostle John's feelings, that "no greater joy do I have than this: that I should hear that my children are walking in the Truth".

I want to express my warmest Christian love for the entire Smith family. I have such fond memories of Connie. I learned a lot from her zealous example as a Christian in the ministry. I also benefited from her fine example as a wife and mother.
She was certainly a joy to be around I can remember spending days in service with her and truly enjoying her company. She was a special person and will truly be missed We certainly look forward to seeing her again. We will continue to keep you all in our prayers.
Love,
The Moon's and Morris family
We met the Smith family at Kingdom Hall on Lynn St. in Greenville, SC. in 1972. Larry and Connie were always uplifting to be around. Connie loved being in service, leaving a fine example for all to follow. She will be missed but only for a short while.
On behalf of the Ormeggi & Venters family, we send warm christian love to the Larry Smith & family.
Condolences to Connie's family. We spent many summers together when we were younger (we are cousins). Connie was born in Jan. of 1943 and I was born in July of 1943. Randy, Brian & MaryEsther, please keep in touch. I love you all.
Sending my sympathy to Randy, Brian,Mary Easter, Lorretta
We are so sorry for your loss, Larry. We will miss Connie’s presence and contribution to our congregation. She was such a faithful sister and we know that Jehovah is going to miss her prayers dearly. But soon “pain will be no more” and we will seen our sweet sister again in perfect health. Our prayers are with you during this difficult time.
One of my sister's greatest joys was teaching others the wonderful hope from the bible. This hope keeps all of her family going till we see her again, with her health restored. Love to all
I knew Connie before I had children. I remember her zealous example serving Jehovah. She has left a fine theocratic legacy to her children. I look forward to seeing her again when we are young again, without physical frailtys. Warm Christian Love and comfort to her family.
I remember Connie with such warm thoughts. Sending warmest Christian love to the family while we wait to see her again at the appointed time.
