Obituary

Bill (BJ) was born on October 1, 1934 in Springfield, Missouri.  He passed into the loving arms of his savior on January 16, 2021.

Bill was so many things to so many people that I can’t encapsulate him into a brief page.  His career started with the Santa Fe Railroad and ended after the merger of Burlington Northern Railroad, as Quality Assurance Director.

Most importantly, he loved to travel….many cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, Panama Canal and trips to Europe (his favorite destination being Israel), however we got him into a Kilt in Scotland, a Toga in Greece and a Kaftan in Egypt.  That was Bill, game for everything.  We also spent a summer traveling to many Civil War battlefield sites gaining insight into what the Constitution meant to our relatives and the sacrifices they made to uphold their beliefs for us (their survivors).

When we retired to Oregon in 2013, he delighted in sharing his love of the Coast with both Family and Friends.

Bill enjoyed people, but especially our time spent with Texas Koinonia, a Christian based community and his time with the Masonic Lodge, first in Texas and becoming a lifelong member of Vista Lodge when we moved to Salem and his fellowship with the men’s group at Salem First Christian Church.  His laughter and kind spirit brought happiness to many.

He will be missed by his loving wife, Beth of Salem, Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren of Missouri and Minnesota.

He got his Angel wings……Til we meet again, Love you BJ………….
