Obituary

William (Bill) Tyson passed away in his home surrounded by his wife and family in Salem Oregon on Friday night January 24, 2020 after exhausting every attempt to deflect Bulbar onset ALS. He was 58.

He was born in Chicago raised in South Haven MI. Was a well-known athlete in school. Football, track, shot put, discus, and wrestling. Later, he coached his daughter Ayla and then his grandson Demetris in track throwing discus and shot put. For a while Bill was in USATF Masters throwing Discus, shot putt and hammer throw.

He had many passions including four wheeling in his latest Landcruiser’s, rock crawling, mudding and just plan exploring the Pacific Northwest. Was well known in the four-wheeling community for his crazy and slow climbs pushing the limits of his rig any chance he got.

After high school he went to South Western Michigan for a couple years. Before moving to Oregon, he worked at the nuclear power plant. Followed by Do-It Corporation for many years in Michigan. Then he spent time selling cars before finding his passion in personal training. He even had an article written about him and his method that extremely helped one of his clients. During that time, he was well known in the gym for how much he could lift and his out of the box methods to help his injured shoulder. Then he started driving truck at nights, the crazy stories he could tell you. About what he had seen some nights. Waking us up to check on us and give us hugs.

Met and married his wife Lola and they were prefect for each other, and she fit right into his family. Playing games, four wheeling, going out to the falls, going to the movies, and spending time with the family.

He was a fighter went through a lot in his too short lifetime, but the three hardest things were losing his father and then his daughter Ayla and fighting a losing battle with Bulbar onset ALS. He fought until he couldn’t fight anymore and was ready to pass

Survived By his loving wife Lola, daughter Laura, son in law Michael, grandchildren Demetris and Isis. Also proceeded by his Grandmother Dorothy, his mother Shirley, his little brothers John, Phil, Dave, Mike, and their families.

Preceded in death by His father William senior and his daughter Ayla.
