Obituary

Surrounded by her family, Vannessa Lady Ramirez, born November 27, 2002 in Salem, Oregon passed away December 11, 2017 at the age of 15 in Overland Park, Kansas.

Vannessa will be lovingly remembered by her parents Rolando Ramirez and Laurel Guerrero, brother Ricardo, sister Brianna, maternal grandparents Olga Rodriguez, Leopoldo and Margaret Guerrero, and paternal grandparents Faustino and Graciela Ramirez. She will also be remembered and greatly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Vannessa believed that her purpose in life was to make people happy. She was a very outgoing , funny, caring, and loving person always finding a way to make someone's day. She loved art, drawing, loved animals her favorite being cats. We often referred to Vannessa as a mermaid as she loved swimming. She liked attending sporting events whether it was soccer, baseball or basketball, she also enjoyed concerts and any event that included spending time with her family and friends. You would often times find Vannessa telling jokes, laughing, dancing, singing, listening to music and even writing music of her own. Vannessa's greatest passion was making her own beats as well as writing her own lyrics as she wanted to pursue a career as a DJ.

We ask that you join us in a Celebration of Life in Vannessa’s honor. It will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home 134 Missouri Avenue South Salem Oregon 97305.

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your beloved daughter, Vannessa. No words could ever convey the pain of your hearts, but our loving Creator and Heavenly Father does know. He has promised that very soon this enemy, death, and all the things that bring our hearts pain will be a distant memory-Revelation 21:3/4. Until then please find comfort in knowing that "He (God) is close to the broken hearted and those crushed in spirit he saves"-Psalm 34:18. It is my hope that these passages along with your loving memories of Vannessa, comfort your hearts and give you a measure of peace during this most difficult time.

    Vanessa,
A brilliantly creative mind that I have had the privilege of getting to know. A true visionary who excelled in the the arts — I’ll never forget going through her awe-inspiring stacks of illustrations and thinking thus: “Wow, these are not just masterfully drawn, but beautifully colored.”
Vanessa is contagiously sweet and illuminated the room just by a simple smile. She will be missed tremendously. My most sincere condolences to all of those who’ve been blessed with having Vanessa In their lives.

My dear Vannessa, it’s hard to believe that you are no longer with us on earth. You will be missed by tia & your cousins. Leo says he will miss the nights he got to spent with your brother, Momma, Alfonso & you. He will miss laughing & making fun of people in movies. I hope heaven is the paradise that you deserve. To my sister & Rolaz I wish the strength to carry through this heartbreaking moment. Since we are celebrating her life I want to share a special moment I will hold in my heart & thoughts forever. When I had my first son, Lora, Ricardo & Vannessa (age 5) came to visit us at the hospital. The first thing Vannessa said was “ Tia, your baby is so cute, please don’t eat him again” I’m sharing this as a little piece of how quirky & funny she was even at a young age. Play music for us in heaven princess you will truly be missed.
