Obituary

Steven Karl Ramiskey, aka “Foos”, was born August 6th, 1951 in Seattle, Washington. He passed away February 5th, 2017 in Keizer, Oregon. Steve was a loving husband, father, and friend to many. He is survived by his partner of 21 years, Susan Schlip, his children Jamison Ramiskey, Christopher Ramiskey, Kristi Schlip, Robert Schlip, Meghan Ramiskey, David Schlip, Jake Ramiskey, and Justin Helgerson, his seven grandchildren and countless other family and friends. Steve was very much a family man, and he was the happiest amongst those he loved.

Steve lived in the Nestucca Valley community the past 26 years. Prior to that he lived most of his life in the Portland area. Steve lived a very unique and awesome life, ranging from working on tugboats to being a professional foosball player in the 1970's. He was quite the athlete and an avid consumer of all sports, whether playing, coaching, or observing. Steve defied odds and hardships as a child to become an amazing man of high character. He will be sorely missed.

There will be a celebration of life honoring Steve in Pacific City on March 11th. Those interested in attending can contact Chris Ramiskey. Email- business0214@hotmail.com.

Messages of Sympathy

  1. Kenn Gilson says:

I have been missing him for years, getting to see him only a few times since he moved from Portland. As many others can relate, we had countless Foosball games together both as partners and as opponents. Along with the Foosball we're all sorts of other adventures and interesting times. He was one of those who studied life with keen interest, and not just at the surface but at deeper levels where the mysteries await, as he once put it back in the Shire Inn days.
Among the crowd we hung out with (you Foosers) were many, many unusually bright and creative folk, and Steve was at home with them. He was a watcher and a thinker, skillful and full of talents...and a genuinely Good Guy.
