Obituary

June was born on February 1, 1929 in Superior, Wisconsin, to Melvin and Anna Brevik. She moved with her family from Duluth, Minnesota to Ferndale, Washington, when she was 14.  June married David Anderson on September 4, 1948 in Ferndale, Washington.  David had been living on his family’s farm; when he and June married they bought their own place close by.  In 1976 the family moved to McMinnville, Oregon where she lived for over 30 years.  She then moved to the Salem Area.  June lived the last years with her daughter Sharon, until her health required nursing home care.

June was preceded in death by her husband David, two daughters, Marilyn Hanson and Judy Baker, and her brothers Harold and Clarence.  She is survived by her daughters Sharon Pournelle and Linda Helt; sons David Allan (Pam), and Jason.  June’s 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren brought her much joy.  She is also survived by her sister Delores Fracker, of Lake Stevens, WA.

June loved children, and was a homemaker most of her life. She was a very good cook, and her children remember the delicious whole-wheat bread she made.  June enjoyed playing the piano, and when she was young, worked to pay for her own piano lessons.  She enjoyed teaching music to her children.  June made room for her piano, even when she was in assisted living arrangements.

June had a good friend in school, Martha Anderson, who not only introduced her to her husband David, but also was her first contact with gospel meetings. June loved to tell the story of when she heard the Gospel and began to live the faith she had received.  Dear to her were the two ministers who brought the Truth to her in 1947; Hazel Hanson and Edna Anderson.   Others remember the hospitality of her and David’s home, and their love for God’s servants.
