Jack Nelson was born on January 26, 1933. He joined the Air force and spent 15 years in service. He fought in the Korean War and left the service to work for the Navy at Seal Beach, California.
He moved to Oregon for School and worked for UPS in Portland, Oregon. He moved to Salem and started work at the Oregon State Hospital and worked there for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife Sonia, his son Aaron, Aaron's wife Vicki Nelson, his granddaughter Kristen Marie Cuthrell, his grandson in law Nick Cuthrell as well as his grandson Michael Anthony Nelson.
His daughter Suzie Marie Nelson predeceased him and is in heaven with him. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 24th, 2019.

Its been far too long since we've spoken, but I have your words of wisdom both in memory and written. I have and always will keep you and Sonia close in my thoughts.
I was blessed to spend six days with Uncle Jack before he passed. The time was very special.
Mr. Jack, May God bless you and keep you and your family in His divine care and grace! You are and always will be a part of our family. You and your Wife, Sonia, were holding our Mother’s hand as she struggled to the end of her life, fighting cancer. You stood with our family at her funeral. You were there when we tried to work through our loss. Our Father, David, also passed this last May. As an awesome friend, you were there to offer your full support. When I ask the question,” what is Christ’s Love?” I do not need to look further. That love stood with my family. His name is Jack Nelson! My family extends their love and condolences to your family. May God always bless!
Aunt Sonia may your memories help you through the pain and lonely days and bring you some comfort in knowing you are loved and not alone. Uncle Jack was one in a million. Love you!
