It is with great sadness that the family of Carolina Ileana Perez announces her passing on August 8th 2017 after putting up a strong fight against pulmonary hypertension.
Carolina, the eldest of four children, was born April 10, 1976 in Los Angeles, CA to parent Maria Castañeda and Juan Perez.
After growing up in Pomona, CA she left behind many friends and family to move to Keizer, OR to be with her mother and siblings. She began working at Lowes in 2006 where she touch the lives of many customers who later on considered her a kind hearted friend.
Carolina was a strong and loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend who never turned her back on someone in need. She had a big and beautiful heart that went well with her kind soul. Everyone who got to know her was able to see what a great person she was. Her words of wisdom and courage helped so many people, and her smile always brightened everyone’s day.
She loved listing to oldies and spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved it when her ”kiddos” would go visit her.
Carolina is survived by her mother Maria Hanshaw, her siblings; Diana Leaf, Suzy Ramirez and Joseph Hanshaw. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews; Brandon Silberman, Victoria Romero, Alexander Romero, Derick Ramirez, Rocco Leaf and Damian Ramirez.
She was preceded in death by her father Juan Angel Perez who passed away on May 12, 2014.
Carol and I had mutual friends, that's how we initially met. We then realized we shared the same birthdate, which I thought was really special to know someone else that was born the same exact day as me. We stayed in contact here and there thru social media throughout the years. She always seemed to be in good spirits although she was going thru some health issues. Til we meet again girly, may you rest in paradise.

Carolina. I rember we meet at. Fremont school in pomona. We were 13 years old once we turn friends we always were together we turn good friends. Into we had to move on our life. But we always keep each other contact we never forget each other. You a wonderful friend always was there need you. And like always with big smile. I miss you alot not be able to talk to you no more and the most sad is im not be able said good bye last time. I always will have you my heart . love you carolina like said is not good bye is i see you soon. Your bestfriend of pomona always will love you.
She was a special lady I enjoyed hanging out with Diana her and I laughed and had fun times. Im sad to hear her passing, shes an angle dancing in the sky. Miss u friend

Dear family, happy memories of Carolina continue to be with you. But when sadness comes, may these promises from the Bible give you solace. Jehovah God is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit. And he will wipe away the tears from all faces. Psalms 34:18; Isaiah 25:8 NWT. Jehovah cares about families and wants to help them to endure. Peace be with you, dear family.

You were like an aunt to us, always with a big hug and smile you recieved us when we would go to grandmas house.. you've been through a lot, so strong and even if you would be suffering, you always kept a smile. I remeber i have said to you "be strong, we are here for you" the night prior of your passing.. you are in a better place now, in peace without suffering, we love you, and you will be dearly missed tia..
